BEAUTY IN QUARANTINE

Whether you are living those difficult days as a single or within your family, stress level is high. Fear for your family, phobia of infection, an uncertain future and boredom are starting to take strain on many of us. The single among us envy those lucky ones that have a family around them, and some of the “lucky” ones might secretly fancy a single solitude and envy the singles.

In either case, letting go of one’s daily beauty regimen is a common factor. But why is it so important in times like this not to stop taking care of ourselves? It’s no secret that outer beauty does reflect immensely on the inner beauty and state of mind. If you are feeling beautiful you are less likely to fall into a depression and your spirits are high. Following your daily skin care and hair care also takes up some of the endless time you have now on hand.  Looking beautiful and groomed will make you look attractive and desirable to your other half who is also dealing with his own frustration of being home and not at his office.

So DON’T despair with the situation and DON’T give up on your Me-Time!  Now is the time to DO and  to try new facials and face masks, especially home-made natural ones. Now is the time to experiment with a new makeup look. Even if its just for being a knock-out when going to the supermarket or pharmacy. And it is definitely the time to pick up a daily work-out routine rather than stuffing oneself with junk food watching the news or Netflix reruns to kill time. You definitely don’t want to fall into another depression because of all the weight you have gained once the curfew is over and our life goes back to normal.  DO use that extra time on hand to look fabulous now and when our solitude is over!

Here some tried and tested natural beauty recipes and work out program perfect for your days at home!

HONEY,  EGG WHITE & TURMERIC  MASK TO PLUMP AND TIGHTEN THE FACE AND EVEN OUT SKIN TONES

Egg whites and honey have each been known for their many health benefits. Together they are used as a mask to tighten sagging and loose skin. Egg white is rich in the protein albumin, which works to rebuild skin cells, improve skin’s elasticity, and impart a natural glow. Honey is a powerful antioxidant that can help remove toxins that build up over time in your skin. Add Turmeric to even out skin tones.

Separate 1 egg white from the yolk. Mix the egg white with 2 tablespoons of honey and add a pinch of turmeric and apply it to your face, neck and chest. Leave the mixture on for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, wash off the mask with warm water and pat dry. For best results, use mask once a week.

THE EGG, MILK, OLIVE OIL & LEMON MASK FOR THICKER AND SHINIER HAIR

Eggs are extremely beneficial to your body and hair. The sticky yellowish-white substance offers deep nourishment for you roots, and repairs hair damage. It also makes your hair glossy and thick! Eggs are rich in calcium, proteins and vitamins that work to restore natural shine and luster to the hair while strengthening its structure. Olive oil restores moisture while lemon juice helps stimulate re-growth from dormant hair follicles

In a glass container beat 2 eggs. Add a cup of milk, a teaspoon of olive oil and a dash of lemon. Mix well together and apply with a thick brush to your hair. Let the mask set for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water and shampoo afterwards. Use once a week but if your hair feels or looks drier than usual use twice a week.
