In its third annual edition Art d’Egypte took to El Moez street in the heart of Islamic Cairo. The event titled “Re-imagined Narratives” and organized by Nadine Abdel Ghaffar under the auspices of the Ministry of Antiquities and the UNESCO has rightly found its place in the international art calendar, attracting art collectors from around the globe eager to discover Egyptian contemporary artists. Along Cairo’s beautiful people they flocked to the historic buildings and palaces that displayed the works of the Egyptian artist in a spectacularly curated set up. The following day the art loving crowd were treated to a city walk to discover downtown Cairo’s historic buildings to end up at the Tamar building one of the renovated projects of Al Ismaelia Group that exhibited the works of artists presented by several local art galleries. The fabulous 2-day event came to a fabulous end with a cocktail hosted by H.E. The French Ambassador who further treated us to a performance by internationally emerging Egyptian Opera star Farah El Dibani. We can’t wait for the 4th edition and can only guess which of Egypt’s wonders will be the backdrop for yet an unforgettable experience.
